A Lovely Luncheon

Welcome Sweet Friends.

Do you ever find that you don't have enough time to spend with someone you love?

All summer long my sister and I wanted to get together.  Summer is over but this week I was fortunate to visit her beautiful home for:

A Lovely Luncheon.

My sweet sister lives atop a mountain with surrounding acreage; about 30 minutes from my home.

She (like many of us ~ hee hee) loves treasure hunting and searching for precious collectibles!

Please come in and see her gorgeous décor and pretties!

This spectacular marble-top credenza on her entry was once our dear mother's.  Isn't this the perfect place for such a vintage treasure?

This is her fabulous and elegant living room.

And her amazing kitchen!

Do you see her collection of gorgeous vintage teacups in her buffet below?

We had a delicious and nutritious lunch in her perfect dining room!

We enjoyed a tasty salmon salad, gluten free bread and crackers, grapes, hot orange pekoe tea and yummy homemade oatmeal cookies.

Don't you love these Shakespere's Sonnet ironstone dishes?

Hubby and I gave my sister the teacups and luncheon plates that we found at Salvation Army in White Rock

 and sister found the teapot

at a local garage sale, and the cream and sugar

at Salvation Army in Maple Ridge!
Doesn't it make the perfect autumn tea set?

It was such an enjoyable and memorable day for me!  Thank you Dear Sister!  You are so special! I love you!

This week Hubby and I are enjoying a driving holiday to California!

See you soon friends!

  2. Hi Karen,
What a beautiful mountain! That is some view! Our son took Hubby and me to White Rock when we were there on one of our trips. Beautiful! My DIL works in Maple Ridge as a nurse! I was so excited when you mentioned those places because I had been there!
Your sister's home really is lovely and I love her Shakespeare's Sonnet ironstone! Totally charming! Beautiful linens too. Sounds like you girls had a wonderful visit. Thank you for joining me for tea and enjoy your trip to California.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  6. What an amazing place to live. It is magnificent. And what a gorgeous home. But the best part is that you got to spent time together. I love all the details. Lovely table setting. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It is truly appreciated.

  7. Oh my goodness Karen, you are one lucky girl. Those dishes are the perfect thing for autumn. It's a good thing that I don't have any siblings because I probably could never have given them away, (I'm a bit addicted to ironstone...lol). Hope you have a fantastic holiday and hope the weather stays sunny and warm for you because it's raining like crazy back home. :) See you soon.
