A Lucky Find for Tea Time

Welcome Sweet Friends To
"A Lucky Find for Tea Time"

For many weekends Hubby and I would go treasure hunting and come back unsuccessful.

But two weeks ago we had a lucky find!

We found this vintage Aynsley for $3.50 less 10 percent.

It was in perfect condition and it was love at first sight....with the pale turquoise and pink rose....

Do you think the price made me love it even more?

 t
I wanted to share this cane back chair that I found for $20 and chalkpainted it a few months ago.

When you chalkpaint fabric it turns to almost  leather.

It was a lot of work and took several coats of paint but I am pleased with the result.

I am really enjoying my impatiens at the cottage in the U.S.

Did you know that in Vancouver, B.C. impatiens have a mildew fungus and weren't available at any nurseries this year.  I found only the New Guinea impatiens when purchasing my bedding plants in Canada.

  1. Oh my Karen, that is a lucky find! I am not savvy when it comes to a lot of brand collectible names, but I love the soft aqua and pink!! Your chair turned out lovely. I have not tried painting fabric yet. I love the vignette in the sweet tray. I have a candle holder just like that only green. I found it at a local antique shop. Thought it would be fun for Halloween, but I have used it a lot for my every day vignettes as well. Do you know anything about it? Love yours in blue! Sorry to hear about the Impatiens in Canada. They are one of my favorite shade plants!
    hugs,
    Jann

I love your chair makeover and the parasol. Such a lovely post and thank you for sharing it with us and joining me for tea. Have a delightful week.

    Blessings,

  5. I like the chair redo and find it interesting that the material turned to a leather-like consistency.
No impatiens across Canada as I couldn't purchase any in Ontario either. I hope this fungus matter can be resolved because I used them in several shady places.

  9. I think you have a lovely bargain there. I also recognize the Mills River tray as one I used to sell years back. I love the way your chair turned out! Great finds!

  13. What a gorgeous finds Karen. And at such a steal. The tea cup is such a pretty pattern. The rose is stunning. And the cane chair reminds me of ones owned by my grandmother. Such a nostalgic piece and it looks amazing in that color. Great job.
