A June Tea on the Balcony

Welcome my Lovely Teacup Friends to

"A June Tea on the Balcony"

I must apologize to you because I had very little time to visit my favourite blogspots last week.  It was an exhausting and draining time for me   because my dear mother... my children's grandmother and also a great grandmother for six precious babies had two TIA's (mini strokes).

Until last week,  my loving mother was one of the few ladies at her home that could walk. Now she is in a wheelchair too with no movement on her right side and she cannot lift her right arm or right foot and her speech is slurred as well. I am saddened friends to see my beautiful mother suffer.

My sweet sis, caring hubby and  I have been spending most of our time sitting beside her while she sleeps and trying to encourage her to have a sip of water. All of her grandchildren have visited her and shown their love.

We all love her so very much. She is 94 years old.

My mother loves pretty pink flowers.

Last year I planted these pretty pink roses and they are in full bloom now.

Did you know that the "Rose" is the June birth flower?

As you know I am collecting all of Royal Albert's Flower of the Month teacups.

I was so pleased to find the matching luncheon plate for my June teacup at Thrift and Gift in Bellingham.  They had two so I bought one for sweet sis since her birthday is in June.  They were $3.00 each.

I'm sure you recognize the other teacup pattern.
It is Royal Albert's Lavender Rose.

I have had this teacup in my collection for as long as I can remember.  I found the tea plate in my treasure hunting travels.

Luck was on my side when I discovered the  matching Lavender Rose teapot recently at Value Village.  It was marked $59.99 but with my 30% off discount card I got it for $42.00.

I found the matching cream and sugar at
Con$ign-It in Port Coquitlam.

Please pray for my dear mother, kind friends.

Blessings,

Karen

  1. Oh Karen...I will indeed be praying for your dear mother. It is so difficult to deal with this, I know. I love your tea cups...two of my favorite patterns! Well Bellingham has better thrifts than around here! Of course you had to share your June teacup...great minds indeed. Please don't neglect to have some quiet moments for yourself during this difficult time. Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Your teacups and teapot are so pretty on your Lacy tablecloth up on your balcony. Your roses are so pretty in the pink hobnail vase, and they're your Mom's favorite color. Hugs and blessings sent to you, sweet friend.

  12. Oh, Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about your dear mother. It is really hard to see our loved ones undergo such changes. I will pray for her and you. My mom had her first stroke several years ago and she has had two more since. Because of too many falls she has taken, along with fractures and broken bones, she is confined to a wheel chair. She is 85 and now lives in a Nursing Home only five minutes away.
Your tea table is just gorgeous! I love your Lavender Rose and as you know, I have a set of it from my mom. The June teacup is beautiful as well. Take care, Karen. Will be thinking of you, dear friend.

    Blessings and hugs,
    Sandi

June is my birth month, so I especially loved seeing the RA teacup and plate. I don't have the plate. Must look for it! That pink vase is a beauty!
