A Victorian Tea

Welcome Sweet Tea Time Friends to

"A Victorian Tea!"

Do you ever wonder what it would have been like to have grown up in the Victorian era?

With elegant tuft back parlor chairs,

And pretty lacy parasols!

(internet)

Coffee or tea was served in silverware.

The lovely gowned Victorian ladies may have worn pearls or white gloves

and perhaps they
carried pretty vintage purses.

Although today's teacup is not Made in England nor is it Victorian, it is a favourite of mine because of it's pedestal base, thick gold gilt and silver and white roses.  The inner cup is translucent.

Do you treasure Victorian collectibles?

Thank you for visiting me today for

"A Victorian Tea!"

See you next week!

Karen

  4. I agree. Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong era. Your Victorian tea setting is lovely and sparkly. The teacup goes so well with your silver pieces. I just love your parasol. It would be fun and handy to have one in the garden during our latest heat wave. Thanks for sharing and being so creative! ~Nora

  6. I think it would have been nice to live in the Victorian Age, but only for the tea-sipping aspect! I like the time we live in....modern conveniences, medical care, etc., etc. Love your garden setup today!

  7. Oh, Karen- you have styled the most delightful Victorian tea! I love girlie sweet pretty teas the very best- and yours does not disappoint!

I adore all your pretty things- that chair is AWESOME, parasol, silverplate, purse, flowers, tea set....all.

I love the "look" of Victorian era, but I am much more in love with the period a little older- for me it's The Regency Period. Give me Jane Austen era any day. Victorians were a bit stuffy and those heavy tight fitted clothes - beautiful but certainly not very forgiving and not made for short chubby gals like me. : - ) But it is fun to dream! I also like The Edwardian Era - Titanic - so gorgeous, yet a little more modern with higher waistlines, too for a tad bit more comfort.

Beautiful teatime and dream time, thanks for sharing it with us!

  8. This is a fun post and that is a pretty chair, Karen. Yes, I think it would be nice to live in some of the Victorian era; especially the tea times but like Millie, I too enjoy our modern day conveniences. Especially medicare! Love the glittery handbag and your teacup. I loved the Edwardian styles with their tiny waistlines and gorgeous frocks and hats. I often daydream about those times. Thank you for sharing and linking up for Tea Time. Have a beautiful day and I hope the smoke is not reaching you. My son and his family are being bothered by it in Pitt Meadows.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  9. What fun to play in your yard with all your pretty pieces, Karen. I love the favorite teacup of yours and how pretty it goes with all your silver and Victorian pieces. It would be fun to visit the Victorian era, but I like our modern conveniences.
