Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Hello My Favourite Friends

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

I've finally decorated my shabby shelf and sideboard for Autumn.

I'm always partial to pink/red transferware  but it's time to get with the fall season.

I will likely bring back my red transferware closer to Christmas and then put back the brown in January.

Isn't Friendly Village really the perfect winter china?  But I'm finding that it also blends nicely with fall colours  and my Thanksgiving pieces too.

Did you know that Johnson Brothers made two different  Friendly Village The Ice House teacup shapes?

Sorry about the sideways pic again. Lol.

I love how  all Transferware seems to go to together.

Canadian Thanksgiving is October the 12th.

 Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Friends!

See you next week!

Karen

  1. It does all go together very nicely. JB as made so many different patterns. I have always liked the Friendly Village and the turkey plates, not sure what they are called. Friendly Village always makes me want to sing "Over the River and Through the Woods..."
    Have a great weekend,

  7. Happy Thanksgiving Karen! Your sideboard display is visually lovely. The transferware is the perfect choice for fall and Thanksgiving. I learn so much about Johnson Bros. teaware from you and am always surprised by the numerous patterns. Friendly Village is a stellar pattern and looks especially nice on your teapot. So great to see your entire brown transferware collection. Enjoy the week!

  13. Your display is wonderful. Love the shelf over the cabinet. Yes, I would want to use these dishes all winter. It would certainly make winter seem cozier. I agree with the comment Victoria made about these dishes making one think of the "Over the River' song!
