Peppermint Square for Santa

Season's Greetings My Dear Teacup Friends!

The Traditional Victorian Pink Teacup Christmas Tree is finally up and we are formally ready to celebrate Christmas.

Along with the orphaned teacups are some favourite clear and pale pink bobbles and birdies...

And also some sparkly crystals and beads.

Instead of milk and cookies this year, Dear Santa will enjoy tea and peppermint square.

With a cup of tea in a Queen's teacup from the Rosina China Company ~ Made in England ~ just perfect for Dear Santa Claus.

A border of holly is so jolly!

I do hope that Santa likes teacups and teapots too!

What are you leaving out for Santa this year?

  2. Karen:
Your tree looks so wonderful. I used to have a teacup tree at my shop but and yours is beyond beautiful. I am admiring those beautiful teapots too on the buffet! What a lovely room with the piano! I have been buying old Christmas sheet music these last few months to put on my piano. I just found something from the Nutcracker that looks very hard to play but also a simple elementary Christmas Carol Book (me) and Silver Bells! I hope to see you link this on Monday!

  6. Hi Karen, what a lovely tea post! Your tree is so elegant, I like all of the romantic looking ornaments! Your Santa plate, and cup and saucer are perfect! I really like the holly and mistletoe on it. Did you know that was the first Santa drawing ever created? Your peppermint squares look way too delicious!
Wishing you and yours a blessed and happy Christmas!

    1. Me again, I wanted to explain the Santa image a little better. :) For years after Clement Moore wrote (1822), and publicly admitted that he wrote, "A Visit from St. Nicholas" or better known as "The Night Before Christmas" many artists tried to capture an image of Santa Claus to fit Moore's description of the jolly old guy. Many failed attempts. So finally in 1881, Thomas Nast, a Harper's Weekly illustrator, succeeded and this particular Santa is that illustration. Just wanted to share it with you, I thought it was neat to know. :)

  7. I love your teacup tree and wish I could do something similar. With three cats, I don't think that would work! But I have thought about a small tree put safely in a corner! I love your Rosina Santa teacup. It made me smile. I think Santa will enjoy a cup of tea and a peppermint square (or more). I know I would! Merry Christmas!

  8. Oh my, Karen, what a beautiful tree! It is so elegant with the beaded garland and china cups! Love it! Your Santa cup and saucer is really cute and I'm sure would be a favourite this time of year. Thanks for sharing the recipe too. If I didn't have family home for Christmas this year I wouldn't have cancelled my party next week but it's going to be a busy time and I thought I could use the break. So, I'll be back in January. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

    1. Thank you for answering my question, Karen. Now that I have a bigger, artificial tree, maybe next year I'll try to hand some of my orphaned teacups too. Looking forward to more "Happy Tea Days" in 2016!
