Snow and Renovations

Hello  Lovely Teacup Friends!

Mr. Cottage and I are busy at the cottage ripping up the old flooring (30 years old) and making way for new updates (floors, doors, moulding - no longer brown - Yay!)  Renovations are exhausting especially when you are a collector and everything needs to be packed carefully away.

We hoped to put some furniture outside but when we awakened this morning there was a new blanket of snow.

We borrowed my son's truck to take the old carpet to the dump.  Hopefully we will make it there if the roads aren't too bad.

Are you anxious for spring too?

The china cabinet is empty. Pretties packed in boxes.

Beds are apart. Pictures and mirrors are off the wall and Furniture/lamps are everywhere!

Please tell me the construction and Mess, Mess, Mess will be worth it.

Since I'm hubby's right hand man...finding time to blog may be a challenge so I apologize that I may not be able to visit you promptly. I am a little overwhelmed.

Hope your first week of February is great!

See you next time.
Karen

  2. Yes, I'm sure it will be worth it Karen! Your teacups will be most happy when all is new. :) Your outdoor tea makes me feel VERY cold! Burrr! It is very pretty though. Wish we would get some snow here in Missouri!
    Happy February to you!

  9. Karen, I don't take the disruption of renovations as well as I used to! But when it's all done, well, it really is worth it - I think! :D

  10. You will be so happy when it's done. I did a major kitchen reno this summer. I saved up for 25 years and this was THE year. It took a long time. My dining room became a kitchen/storage room. But it was all worth it. I should have taken a photo to see what it was like. I have almost forgotten. Are you doing the whole house or just a few rooms.

  12. Karen, I'm sure it will all be worth it when you're finished. I know it's difficult because last year Hubby did a lot of painting, which used to be my job but can no longer do. I painted our oak trim white many years ago. Sanding, priming, and then painting. Such a lot of work. It took me almost a year but I was and still am so pleased with the results. We bought this house brand new but they had put oak everything in it and I hated it. So, out came the white paint and away I went. The whole upstairs of our home has white woodwork now except for the kitchen cabinets. I had planned on doing those too but they won't get done. We will sell just the way it is.
Your tea setting outside is lovely! I know you're getting hit with a lot of snow because my son tells me all about it. My grandchildren think it's wonderful. I am sure looking forward to spring! I love to see January and February out of the way. We can get some nasty weather in March too but I know it's not going to last. I look forward to your new look!

    Blessings,
    Sandi
