My First Tea in the Garden in 2014!

Welcome to

"My First Tea in the Garden in 2014!"

The sun is just starting to appear this morning and although the backyard is in shade I have set our First Tea in the Garden.  But I am so pleased that there is no rain.

Today I am using one of my favourite teapots...

Royal Albert's American Beauty.

I found these vintage sponged dark pink Royal Victoria Wade cups and saucers ~   3 sets for $5.99 at Value Village!

As I take the pics I realize that two of the cups are  a little different.  One has a gold border on the inner cup and one is plain.

There is a little crazing on one of the inner cups but this makes me believe that it has been well loved.

At first sight I thought they were Royal Winton and would match my cream and sugar that I have had forever.

I had such fun last week at Ikea.  I didn't know that I would find such pretty new things.

A white decorative tray,

rose serviettes

and plant pots in pretty pastel shades and all reasonably priced!

Looking so forward to many more
Teas in the Garden this spring, summer and early fall!

Colours at the Cottage

Hello Sweet Friends,

Welcome to "Colours at the Cottage".

Spring flowers are in bloom at the cottage and I wanted to share some of my favourite colours with you.

Lilacs in deep purple

and mauve.

Some cut yellow wild flowers,

Pink Azaleas starting to bloom,

And one

Lonesome pale pink tulip in the garden.

I love the colours of spring, don't you?

This weekend I will be visiting

A Mint Spring Tea

Welcome Sweet Teacup Lovers to

 "A Mint Spring Tea"!

I was hoping for sunshine today but I am grateful for no rain at the moment.

Today I am sharing some 'new to me' china pieces.

This rich and elegant vintage Aynsley teacup is the most beautiful shade of green ~ almost turquoise. I found it at Salvation Army for $9.99 (in Port Coquitlam).

I had been looking at it for a few days and finally gave in.  I really don't have willpower when it comes to pretty teacups.  Lol.  I did fall in love with the pink roses on the inner cup and on the saucer.

Last weekend Hubby went with my younger son to the Antique Fair at Queens Park in New Westminster.

He knew that I have been searching for some green depression glass and bought me this cream and sugar for $15.00.

I unfortunately was unable to go with him because of our Secret Garden Tea.

Don't you think Hubby's a keeper?

When we were together treasure hunting we found these depresssion glass tea plates at a Garage Sale in Bellingham a few weeks ago.  They were $3.00 each.  I bought all four.

Oh yes, the wee gold spoons I was amazed to find  5 for 49 cents at my favourite Thrift Store - Second Chance in Lynden, Washington!

I thought the gold would match nicely with all of my gold trimmed teacups.

The Sadler teapot

and Aynsley teacup you have seen before.

My dear and generous friend gave me the roses  after I drove her to a specialist appointment.

Love, Love, Love, Roses!!

Would you like some store bought cream cheese cinnamon buns with your cup of peppermint tea?

Don't you love to relax with your favourite magazine and have a hot cup of tea?

Hoping that we can share tea in the garden soon.

Thank you for visiting me today for
"A Mint Spring Tea".

Have a "mint" week!
Karen

Shabby Chic Garden Chairs

Hello Ladies
Welcome to

"Shabby Chic Garden Chairs"

I am so anxious for warmer days when we can have Tea in the Garden with Bernideen this May.

I was honoured to be featured on Tea in the Garden with Bernideen!
http://blog.bernideens.com/

So I have been searching for some reasonably priced and pretty additions for my outdoor tea times.  I came across these two vintage chairs at different Value Village locations.

Each one was $4.99.

 They are not identical

but that makes them each so unique.

Last year I participated in Terri's special garden party at Artful Affirmations.

I am so eager to plan another Romantic Garden Party this year. If I could only find another couple chairs like this my props would be complete.

Don't you think they will be perfect for outdoor garden parties?

Not sure if I should repaint them or not.

What do you think?

Thank you for visiting me today!

Are you anxious for Tea in the Garden too?

Hope spring has arrived at your home!
