A Tasha Tudor's Tea Time

Welcome Sweet Tea Friends to:

"A Tasha Tudor Tea Time"

Bernideen is having a special Tea in the Garden today to celebrate Tasha Tudor's 102nd Birthday and I wanted to join in the fun.

I have only owned one Tasha Tudor book which is called A is for Annabelle.  I had it in my kindergarten class because it is an alphabet book.  Since I retired my collections are stacked in boxes and I was unable to locate it.

This is what the book looked like.

Each letter of the alphabet is related to a doll's beautiful accessories, such as lockets and parasols, in a brilliantly illustrated companion to the Caldecott award-winning counting book.  It was originally published in 1954 and Tasha Tudor is the Author and Illustrator.

So today I have tried to create a tea party appropriate for a little girl and her dolls to remember Tasha Tudor.

I have chosen two favourite demitasse teacups ~ just the perfect size for a little girl.  (I wish my grand daughter was her to play with me).

This demitasse is a Tuscan DuBarry Rose.

This wee one is Spode's Billingsley Rose.

I love the little faces on this vintage teapot.

The teapot is a miniature Sadler cube.

Little girls love to dress up so on the bush is a pretty white frock and sparkly crown.

A vintage purse and pearls is needed for dress up too.

The flowers were for our 35th Wedding Anniversary ~ a gift from my son and dear daughter-in-law.  Thank you Bradley and Anna!

Thank you too for stopping by today for a tea time  tribute to Tasha Tudor.

See you next time!
Karen

Pink For A Hot Summer Eclipse Day

Hello Dear Tea Friends!

It's a very hot summer day today!
As Bernideen noticed from my dark pics, I took these on the the day of the eclipse.

The china teacup and cream and sugar are Royal Albert's Bridesmaid Rose.

And you know this is one of my favourite pink teapots  ~ a Sadler cube.

The tea plates are Royal Albert's Serena.

Isn't it fun to mix and match pink rosy china?

I had to search the garden shops for this pretty shade of pale pink petunias.

I must apologize because
my grass is very burnt from our scorching summer days, water restrictions and our absence due to

weekly visits to the cottage.

I hope that you are managing to stay cool.

Thank you for your visit today!

See you next time!
Karen

A Teapot Wind Chime

Hello Tea Friends!

I want to share a lovely gift from my dear friend and hairdresser Jan.

It's a silver teapot wind chime.  (I'm sorry the pics just don't do it justice).

It has beautiful vintage spoons and pretty blue beads for it's chime.  And the sound is amazing!

My sweet friend Jan is a little rascal because she asked me if I had any silver teapots for her craft group and then she surprised me with this one that I had given her.

I still haven't found the perfect tree to display it at the cottage and may take it home where I have a larger selection of trees to choose from.

For our tea time I chose this blue vintage Sadler teapot  to match the wind chime.

The paler blue teacup is an Aynsley.

I'm sad to say the pink roses are now finished but I was pleased to find some blooming white ones.

Thank you for your visit today and thank you to my wonderful and talented friend Jan for this unique and special teapot wind chime ~ it's such a treasure and
I love it!
