A Cottage Kitchen Reno and Tea

Hello Teacup Friends

Welcome to

"A Cottage Kitchen Reno and Tea!"

Do you remember me telling you that since Hubby retired I have been busy helping him with cottage renovations?

Well, the cottage kitchen renovations are completed.

We started by painting the inside of the cupboards and then adding new white shelves.

We then removed all of the cabinet doors and began the process of sanding and adding glass to four of the upper cabinets and beadboard to the rest.

We caulked the beadboard and painted the cupboards with Cloverdale paint to get a smooth result.  It isn't a bright white but I think it's perfect.

Hubby even added knob feet, a corbel and an applique by request :)

This was the oak kitchen before the makeover.

It was a lot of work but now my kitchen seems beachier, fresher and cleaner and more cottagey.

And now we can relax and enjoy our tea .....

I am enjoying pink and turquoise in the kitchen.

The teapot today
is the palest of turquoise.

The Paragon teacup is a little deeper tone of turqoise.

Thank you for joining me today for

  9. Oh, I do love a white kitchen, Karen! Yours looks wonderful. Hubby and I were going to paint our oak cabinets but my back problems have put the kibosh on that. They will have to stay this way and maybe our next home will have white cabinets. When we first bought our home, I had a turquoise/aqua and pink kitchen which I also had flow into the dining and living rooms. Sometimes I still miss it. Love your turquoise teacup. Thank you for joining me for tea and Happy Canada Day, my friend!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  10. Your kitchen looks lovely! I know from recent past experience how much work goes into painting cabinets. We made that decision a few months ago, and now our builder-basic oak cabinets are all lovely dressed in light gray. Those turquoise teacups are beautiful.
