Tuscan for Tea

Hello Dear Tea Friends,

Our December family birthdays are over and I have decided to take the tablecloth off for a few days before I re-set the table for Christmas dinner.

This is the antique pedestal table that was once my dear mother's.  I have always loved it!

When the tablecloth is on,  you can't see the intricate carving on it's legs.

I recently found this pretty Tuscan plate (marked Sunshine) for $10 and just had to order a teacup to match.

I expected the first teacup that I ordered to be full size; but it wasn't.  It was the demitasse. Lol. The perfect size for my wee grand daughter.

Has this ever happened to you?

I loved this pretty pink rosebud and gold leafed pattern so much that I ordered the larger one too (where the size was specified).

The larger teacup is not marked DuBarry Rose.

But the demitasse is marked.

The pink teapot is a Georgian Gibsons Made in England.

This week my daughter and I made Starbuck's Cranberry Bliss Bar. Only available in Starbucks at Christmas.  Mmmmm, it's yummy.

And now I can have it all year long!

If you want to try it too,

Just google:

  2. Your new Tuscan chintz tea set is a beauty! I recently ordered a shirt online and was disappointed with the snug fit. The company is willing to exchange it, but it'll cost me $$$ to ship it back across the border. Bah!

What a love heirloom table and treasured piece. The teacups caught my eye as I have some in this pattern too and love it. Your home is absolutely beautiful for Christmas and your tree is too!

I also checked out your previous post and your home looks perfectly decked out for Christmas and birthday celebrations. Happy birthday to your daughter and hubby!
Now I'm off to check out the recipe for the cranberry bliss bars...yum!

  6. Karen, Love the pink tea pot and cups on your lovely wood table. Too bad your first order was not what you expected. Nice to a set now. I love your pink ornament on your centre piece. I have been looking for pink ornaments to create a center piece of my Sadler teapot. Unfortunately, pink is not an in color this year. I guess I will have look for vintage. Thanks for sharing. 7. Karen, your table is so beautiful and what a treasure to have in your home! I LOVE your dainty teacups and the teapot too. I really do love a soft pink colour. Isn't it a pity that one of our favourite colours is so hard to find! I find that every year now fashions and colours change so much it's hard to stay on top of it all. Nothing stays the same. I guess that is why some of us are so fond of vintage. Your bars look delicious too and would be lovely with a cup of tea. Merry Christmas, dear friend! Have a magical and meaningful holiday with your loved ones.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  8. Your home is so beautiful all decorated for Christmas! Your tea china so pretty! I had the same experience with ebay. I had found a beautiful Myott "the hunter" teapot at Goodwill and ordered the teacup to match. It sure is cute, but I wanted the regular size. I love your table! Mine is from my grandmother only very plain solid oak. I remember sitting at the table when a little girl. So many happy memories around the table! Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
    Hugs, Nancy
