Cruisin' for Collectibles #3 - A Danish Tribute

Welcome (Velkommen)
and Good Morning (God Morgen)

Today is the birthday of Crown Prince Frederik. He is the heir to the throne of Denmark and will become king one day.

He is the elder son of Queen Margrethe II
And Henrik the Prince Consort.

Since my husband and his family were born in Copenhagen, Denmark I wanted to
feature this beautiful and dainty pastel blue teacup trio today.  We were very fortunate to find this pretty collectible this week while "Cruisin' for Collectibles".  It was at Value Village for just $9.99 (all 3 pieces)!

This Vintage Danish (dansk) Bing & Grondahl Seagull bird Porcelain teacup, saucer and tea plate are gold trimmed and textured to the touch.

The pattern was retired since 1997.

The teacup is tiny, almost like a demitasse and measures 3 1/2 '' in diameter and 2 1/4 '' in height.

Some of my favourite Danish treasures...

The Little Mermaid
Bing & Grondahl Figurines....
We inherited this lovely piece from my husband's parents.

My hubby's grandfather and uncle were both shoemakers in Denmark.

Collectible plates....

And our precious Royal Copenhagen Tureen.

Constitution Day on June 5th this year is a holiday in Denmark.

The Danish Flag

Tak (Thank you) for visiting the Cottage and Castle.

Forstat god dag (Have a good day)!

  1. Hi Bernideen,
You are such a faithful friend! Thank you for commenting. I have grown to love all of the Danish china and find the light and dark blues in these collectibles so beautiful too. See you on Tuesday for Tea in the Garden.
    Take care,
