A Sunny September Tea Time

Welcome Dear Friends to

"A Sunny September Tea Time"

Sunny  September is here and I am welcoming the autumn colours approaching !

I bought these pretty dahlias on Birch Bay-Lynden Road - five flowers for a dollar.

The teacup that I am sharing today is a Royal Crown Derby Made in England.

This plain white teacup with it's simple gold trim matches perfectly with all of my Royal Albert Val D'or China pieces.

I found this vintage collectible treasure at the Penny Lane  Antique shop in Bellingham.

She matches perfectly with the decor at the cottage.

This Vintage Lady Head Vase is in a Lewis Weil style and is  4.5" tall. She has beautiful gold accents with a turquoise dress and pink rose flowers.

Head vases generally show a woman from the shoulders up.  They were used by florists in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. They were made in many sizes and sometimes came decorated with faux  jewelry and/or other fun accessories. They were often modeled after famous women and glamourous women, a style sometimes referred to as "Glamour Girl". These vases were manufactured in the U.S.A.  and Japan.  Manufacturers and Artists names such as Nichols, Copley, Weil, Inarco, Ceramic Art Studios,  Napco, Rubens, Enesco, U.S.A. Glamour Girls and more (ebay source)

Don't you think Vintage Lady Head Vases may be a nice new collection to start?

Or is one enough?

Would you like some Orange Cream Sherbet with a piece of Almond poppyseed cake?  It tastes so yummy as it starts to melt.

Today I thought I would use my Val D'or Coffee pot for tea.

Thank you for joining me this September morning for

A Sunny  September Tea Time

Hope your September is Sunny!

Home Sweet Home

Teacup Tuesday

Hope to see you there!

  1. Lovely tea time! I have seen a lot of lady head vases, but not one like this. She is quite fabulous.

  2. Hi Karen,
How nice to be able to set up a tea outdoors. I haven't been able to do that all summer. Lately, it has been dreary, rainy, and windy here so it sort of puts the kibosh on an outdoor tea. Your coffee pot looks fabulous with all your white and gold and I love your Royal Crown Derby teacup and saucer. They are lovely! Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Happy September!

  3. Hi Karen: Before I forget, I have that exact flower tray on wheels. I love it. I have mine filled with vintage planters in different shapes. I have have to show it to you one day. Thanks for your prayers for my son, he is improving, not quite there yet. I appreciate every prayer you have said for him. I hope your children are doing well. Your yard is huge! Sorry I have not had a lot of time to catch up with you. My family has kept me on my knees. I will email you soon dear friend. Hugs, Martha PS We have so much of the same taste. I collect heads too! Surprise!

  4. You are really starting to celebrate Autumn. The dahlias are perfect for fall. I love the handle of your Royal Crown Derby teacup...the white is very elegant. Orange Sherbet! I have had Orange Sherbet in ages ... sounds wonderful! Happy Tea Day!

  5. Hi Karen,
Your teacup really does look pretty with your dishes. I love your Vintage lady head and yes, it would be fun to have a collection of them. I'd love to share a dish of orange sherbet and a slice of cake in your pretty setting.

  6. Karen:
You are so right - her head looks just like the cup and saucer. I love the wide gold trim on both. So glad you shared at Tea In The Garden!

  7. I have always liked Head Vases. Yours is particularly nice!

  8. Beautiful outdoor tea and lovely yard! I so enjoy your outdoor tea times! Love your china, it looks so cool and refreshing, so perfect to welcome September! I have the same tea cart, in fact two, the white one at the farm cottage and a black one here at my log home. Both were given to me by my sister, who is a avid garage sale shopper!
    Hugs, Nancy
