An Indoor Tea Time

Hello My Treasured Tea Time Friends

I suppose it's time again for

An Indoor Tea Time!

It's sprinkling out and I am feeling a little chilly. And I am thinking that possibly our outdoor teas may be over until next spring especially if this fallish weather persists but indeed ... isn't it the perfect time for a warm cup of tea and a visit with treasured friends like you?

I found this pretty Johnson Brother's Teacup at Salvation Army in North Vancouver a few months ago.  I was lucky to find the cup on one shelf and the saucer far away on another shelf.  They were $.99 each.

The colours attracted me immediately.  Such a dainty flower with colours of pink and turquoise. Also a match for the cottage decor.

I found the tea plate another day.

 Isn't treasure hunting fun?

Do you know the name of this pattern?
I am thinking it would be a nice everyday set since it looks so durable and unlike most of my teacups it could go in the dishwasher.

Oh yes,  remember I told you that I thought there would be no more pink or white roses at the cottage?  Well,  I was wrong.  What a pleasant surprise I found today.

Do you ever look for teacup books?

This one is a treasure.

I wonder where this teacup has been and what it would say.

I'm sure our vintage teacup collections would have a lot to tell us.

Thank you for stopping by for

An Indoor Tea Time!

  1. I love to see each time you post the beautiful tea party settings you have. Pink is one of my favorite colors but when you add aqua or blue I go "Ahhh So Beautiful!!" Those 2 colors make me swoon. Beautiful tea party and the pillow I love it. Take care, Darlene

  2. I love your sideboard and the shelf/cabinet above it!

  3. Very pretty. I would love to find something this pretty at a SA or GW.

    Charlotte Moore

  4. I think this is a wonderful table setting and tea time with those precious roses. I love your new cup and saucer. Each detail is lovely! I really enjoy your weekly presentations and always look forward to what you do!

  5. The soft pinks in each image are beautiful. What stories would our teacups tell if they could talk....I would imagine we would be a bit surprised. Your table setting is lovely for an indoor tea time.

  6. Your teacup find is lovely! I've have that kind of luck too - finding matching pieces on distant shelves. I don't know what your pattern is but I know I've seen it before. I love your transferware collection and now I want to put a lace tablecloth on my table! You inspire me. Visiting from Pink Saturday.

  7. Your indoor tea time is so lovely! The tea cup is very romantic and the book is fairy. This is another gorgeous tea setting.

  8. Karen, you have the most fruitful treasure hunting adventures! Love the Johnson Bros. teacup. So glad you found the matching saucer. (I don't know the name of the pattern, but it's lovely.) The colors are perfect for you cottage. I have to admit I'm a bit jealous to learn about your fall like weather. Today was 100 degrees. Rain showers sound very appealing. I will miss my outdoor teas though. Enjoyed seeing your roses too!

  9. Oh Karen, you've found more wonderful treasures and your new trio was meant for you to bring home for you to love. Your rose bouquet is just so pretty as a centerpiece on your table, and I'm sure I would enjoy reading your tea book with such lovely quotes.

  10. Hello Karen....I don't have an email address for you, but I wanted to stop by and thank you for your sympathies you left at Seashells and Lavender for my niece and her passing. That was very kind of you. She will be greatly missed.
    God Bless You.

  11. Hi Karen,
Yes, the weather is cool out there in the Vancouver area, isn't it? We have been enjoying lovely warm weather the last number of days. Summer's last hurrah, I guess. As you know, my favourite colours are pink and aqua so you know I am loving your teacup trio. Such a pretty pattern and I don't know the name of it. JB makes such wonderful china. It would be perfect for an every day set. I have the same teacup book and I love it! Enjoyed seeing your roses too. My biggest bush yielded several last weekend and I have never seen roses on it this late in the year before so it was a treat. Thank you for joining me for tea and Happy Autumn, my friend!

  14. You have such a beautiful, feminine home Karen. I love the first picture with the buffet. Wow, I never find a beautiful cup for 99 cents! What a deal! And yes, it's fun to think about where our treasures may have come from. Sometimes I even like to make up stories about them. thanks for sharing your beautiful tea with us.
