Blue and White for Tea Time

Welcome My Teacup Friends to

"Blue and White for Tea Time!"

I do hope that all of my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Have you started decorating for Christmas?

Before I use my red transferware to decorate for the holiday season, I decided to try blue and white china pattern pieces on the shabby chic cottage shelf.

It all started with this dear little boy and girl Dutch cream and sugar that I recently found at a little shop.  They reminded me of my darling grand daughter and I thought of our fun tea parties to come at the cottage.

On this late November afternoon I am surprised that the sun is shining brightly at the cottage.

I do believe these are definitely the end of my pink rose buds.

While hubby's golfing days are quickly coming to an end since the course is frozen in the early mornings, I am taking advantage of my solitude and playing with my pretties and of course, enjoying a cup of tea and cookies.

I thought these Little Dutch cookies would be an light afternoon snack.

Aren't their faces precious?

I think I am partial to this china because my dear mother once had some something similar on her kitchen hutch. Unfortunately my wonderful father had Parkinsons and one day lost his balance and fell into the cabinet and accidentally broke the maple china cabinet door and some of the little Dutch pretties.

Does a cup of tea sometimes make you reminisce?

Thank you for joining me today for

"Blue and White for Tea Time!"

See you next week!

Gracie Chintz for Tea Time

Hello My Dear Tea Time Friends and

Welcome to

"Gracie Chintz for Tea Time!"

What do you ask your family to get you for Christmas?

Every year for my birthday, Christmas and Mother's Day I ask my family for HomeSense/Winners Gift Cards.

This store located in Canada is similar to Ross, Marshals and TJ Max in the U.S.

Recently my sis called me to tell me that Home Sense had black Gracie Chintz teapots and guess what?

I hadn't spent my birthday, Mother's Day or  Christmas gift cards so I got exactly what I wanted!  Yay!

I had enough for two teacups, teapot and cream and sugar!!

They even match my kitchen colour theme.

Do you like Chintz china too?

Yesterday I tried a new recipe  ~
Raspberry Oatmeal Crumble Bars
and thought you may enjoy it.

Raspberry Oatmeal Crumble Bars

Ingredients:

1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup seedless raspberry jam
(I added 3/4 cup fresh raspberries)

Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 8 inch pan.

Combine brown sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and oatmeal.
Blend with pastry blender into crumbly mixture.

Press 2 cups of mixture into pan.
Spread jam, (and chopped raspberries) within 1/4 inch of edge of pan.
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over top.

Bake 35 - 40 minutes.  Until Golden.
Allow to cool before cutting.

Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by for

"Gracie Chintz for Tea Time"
(and Raspberry Oatmeal Crumble).

See you next week Sweet Tea Friends!

Pink Roses and Gold for Tea

Hello Tea Time Friends

Welcome to

"Pink Roses and Gold for Tea!"

I love  china with rich gold trim and pretty pink roses.

These are a few of my favourite pieces in my collection ....

Help yourself to one of my  favourite oatmeal cookies with your tea.

Oatmeal Cookies (My Favourite)

About 3 dozen 2 inch cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream:
1/2 cup butter
Add and cream well:
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Combine and beat until smooth:
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon milk
Sift together and add to the above ingredients:
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon double acting baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

When beaten smooth, add:

1 cup uncooked quick rolled oats
(For a different flavour add 3/4 cups of chocolate chips or
1 cup flaked coconut)

Beat the mixture well.  Drop cookies 2 inches apart on a well-greased cookie sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.

My thoughts and prayers  are with our friends in Paris today.

Thank you for your visit!

See you next week!
