An Old Country Rose Tea

Welcome Teacup Lovers To

"An Old Country Rose Tea".

A few months ago sis and I were dividing up some of my mom's teacups. She graciously offered me my mother's Royal Albert's Old Country Rose cup and saucer.

Love it's pattern of rich roses!

Then at Maple Ridge's Bibles for Missions I found a second teacup for $7.50.

But perhaps my luckiest find ever was at Lynden's Second Chance where I found the teapot. It was marked $19.99. How could I resist?

There were no chips or scratches.

What would you have done?

Oh yes, I must confess....

I weakened and also purchased the matching cream and sugar for $10.00, four bread and butter plates ( $2.99 each) and four luncheon plates ($3.99 each).

This Royal Doulton figurine "Sarah" has roses

on her dress.

Hubby and I planted the pink roses last summer

and now they are in full bloom and so we can enjoy them indoors. (It's raining as I take the pic).

Well, we won't be going out for lunch or dinner any time soon because of my latest additions .... but it won't it be fun to stay at home and use my new china?

Just looking at pretty china gives me joy!

Tea and Roses

Welcome Teacup Lovers To

"Tea and Roses"

Today I am being adventuresome and choosing not my usual pinks but china with yellow and shades of blue. This Royal Albert teacup is a pale coral with yellow roses. (The teapot behind is a miniature Sadler).

The white roses from the cottage garden look almost a creamy white with the yellow pillow behind it.

The other teacup is identical except that it's yellow roses are on a blue background.

This weekend I found this wee pale turquoise vintage smoker's table at an antique shop in Lynden. I loved it's cottage-like colour! I think that it may be a perfect place to store some teacups! Lol!

It was $24.99.

I found some store bought s'more cookies for us.

The weather has been just beautiful at the cottage.

Thank you Romantic Homes Magazine

Hello Dear Friends!

Today I am just ecstatic to share my exciting news with you.

Last summer I submitted some pics from "A Romantic Garden Party" to Romantic Homes Magazine.

I had nearly forgotten about it but then about a month ago Meryl Schoenbaum contacted me by phone. We had a lovely conversation and she said that A Romantic Garden Party would be featured in the July issue.

I have a subscription to this beautiful magazine and was eagerly awaiting good news.

I wouldn't believe it until I saw it...... and this week I went to the mailbox at the cottage and did a happy dance!

A Romantic Garden Party photograph is shown in the July Issue on the "My Home" section (page 26) with a brief quote from my post.

I have always admired those ladies whose homes and gardens were featured in this magazine and never thought it could possibly happen to me!
