Tea on the Balcony

"Tea on the Balcony"
At the Castle

With the chance of a spring rain, I thought we should be safe and have "Tea on the Balcony"....

Do you like the colour mauve with a hint of mint green?

This tea plate has no markings. The shape and colour makes it so delicate and sweet.  I found the pair of plates at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver at the Retro Design and Antique Festival.

The teacups are almost identical shapes however they are from different companies.

The mint green teacup is an Aynsley.

A dainty flower is inside of the cup and on the saucer of the Royal Stafford.

The teapot is multi-coloured tones of turquoise, mauve, purple and mint green.
It is made in China.

I found the cream and sugar a few years ago at the Vancouver Flea Market.
They are marked Royal Vienna. I believe it is Bavarian.
The background is gold with flowers of purple and green.

I found the little white bonnet decorated with mint green ribbon and roses on the weekend at a Relay for Life Garage Sale in Lynden, Washington.

Even though the dishes displayed are mismatched, I love the pastel colours together.

A mauve floor chandelier is above the table.

Are you hungry yet?

How would you like some strawberry rhubarb pie with whip cream with your tea?

Thank you for having "Tea on the Balcony".

Karen

  1. Oh how fun - purple - so regal and what a teapot with morning glories.....I love it all! I am loving your balcony tea. I couldn't think of how to spell balcony so I checked you- didn't want to spell baloney.

  2. Hi Bernideen,
That is too funny! How embarrassing that would be. I may make a spelling mistake but hopefully 'balcony' is correct this time - please do let me know in the future if I make an error. I do appreciate you checking. Thank goodness we have edit on our blogs!

Thanks for hosting the Tea on the Garden! It is so much fun!

    Take care,
    Karen

  3. Gosh Karen, your tea table looks like something out of a beautiful, romantic Victorian conservatory. I love the mix and match way of it all and, for me, it just naturally fits together. Don't you love the antique fairs and the flea markets here in Vancouver? I do. Do you ever get out to Fort Langley? That's another favorite of mine. Hugs to you and I hope you have a lovely week my friend. :)

Thank you for your kind words. I do love the antique fairs and flea markets in Vancouver and yes, Fort Langley is one of my most favourite places to go too. I always come home with a little treasure after we visit there.
I hope you have a wonderful week.

  4. Hi Karen,
What a delightful tea time on the balcony! Love the teapot and your teacups are lovely. The purples and greens are such a pretty combination. I think a mis-matched tea is so fun and always more interesting. Cute hat too. Your pie looks delish and I am anxiously awaiting our rhubarb. I am hoping I will have some by the time my boys come home the first of June.
Thank you for coming to tea and sharing your pretty tea things with us.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  5. Hello Karen,
Your balcony tea spot is fabulous! I love your little setting with all the romantic touches. And your china! Oh my! What stunning plates! You were lucky to find them. Yay! Your tea cups are also just gorgeous. I have two cups like these, in mint and dusty rose, but they do not have the decorative swirl like yours do.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful tea time. Delicious desserts and all : )
    Hugs,
    Terri

Thank you so much for your comment. I also wanted to thank you for hosting "Share Your Cup Thursday". It is such fun to view other friend's favourite things.

I am also very upset about the tragedy in Oklahoma. Although I live far away I am saddened for these people and I am praying for them.

Thank you so very much for commenting. I do value your opinion. Thank you also for hosting "Home and Garden Thursday". It is such fun to link up and meet wonderful people like yourself.

I am also very concerned for the people in Oklahoma. As a kindergarten teacher in Canada, we all have prepared emergency kits for our classrooms and I agree that it is crucial for all of us to prepare for these natural catastrophes and your emergency information on your site is so important and beneficial for us to know.

      Thanks again,
      Take care,

Thank you so much for your comments. I just looked at your blogspot and I think that your Katie Alice English Garden Tea for One is absolutely beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. The pale blue with white polka dots on the teacup is so delicate and the floral on the teapot makes it such a lovely set.
I hope that you will receive many more gifts like that.
