An Old English Rose Coffee Break

Happy Valentine's Day Week
Dear Friends!

What colours remind you of Valentine's Day?

I  think of  burgundy, red and romantic and exquisite pinks.

Today I am sharing a Royal Albert teacup

with a grand, rich gold trim surrounded by gorgeous pink, burgundy and red roses.

It is another of my favourites that blends beautifully with my  Royal Albert's "Old English Rose" tea set

and it reminds me of Valentine's Day colours!

This elegant teacup trio was once my dear mother's.

I was so fortunate to find the teapot at Goodwill in Marysville for $24.99.

I love it's shape.

I have acquired quite a collection through the years but I have only two dinner plates.

I ordered this similar patterned vintage cracker jar on ebay for $10.00.

February means Valentine treats!

I was busy baking yesterday for my son's and my hubby's lunch:

Coffee break muffins, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and sour cream cookies.

Instead of my usual tea time, I am having coffee today with a yummy fattening cookie.

Doesn't pink icing make all of your baking taste better?

Thank you for joining me today for

"An Old English Rose Coffee Break"!

Have a Lovely Valentine's Day Dear Friends!
Karen

  1. Now that set of china is unbelievable! I have never seen a set. I saw the cup and saucer in a case once for $75.00. I cup and saucer but it is much simpler without the thick gold - maybe not as old or something and I have seen other bloggers who have it the same way. What a beautiful table and posting!

  8. I have just ONE of these cup and saucer sets. It is beautiful. It was the set a dear cousin used often so I always think of her when I use it. I know you have enjoyed collecting up all these wonderful items.

  10. You are lady after my heart! I have also have a tea set in Old English Rose which I found at a shop which had shipments coming from England at great prices. Your teapot was a fabulous find at GW. The factory which made Royal Chelsea has a very similar pattern with roses and wide gold which I have also collected. I also love bears and have included them in my tea table for Valentine's, too! We would have a grand time talking about china and hope your !4th is filled with love!

  14. The RA china is pretty with the big pink and red roses and an ideal choice for your Valentine tea. Good china and icing on the goodies does make for a special time over tea or coffee.
