"A New Shabby Shelf for Teacups!"
When Mr. Cottage and I first finished painting the sideboard, the plan was to hang a shelf above it.
We have been searching for one for some time.
And our treasure hunting paid off!
Last weekend we found this one at Penny Pinchers in Bellingham.
After seeing my eyes light up ~ Hubby knew I spotted the one of my dreams and he knew that there was no turning back.
After seeing my eyes light up ~ Hubby knew I spotted the one of my dreams and he knew that there was no turning back.
He didn't even complain when hanging it up.
This is how the sideboard looked before the shelf...
And After!
Now I have a little more room in my cupboards.
And I can enjoy decorating the shelf and changing it's look.
Perfect to display Transferware teapots and
Mason's Vista teacups?

Oh Karen,
ReplyDeleteYouve found the perfect shelf for above your sideboard. Isn't it wonderful when you find the right one and that your sweetie realized it? It looks fabulous with all your red transferware on display.
What a great find, Karen! Your red transferwares look fantastic in their new home!
ReplyDeleteKaren: The shelf is perfect! Now you have room for more cups! Sending hugs your way, Martha
ReplyDeleteDear Karen:
ReplyDeleteYour transferware - I love. I just saw on etsy that Vista/Mason's is from the 1930's. I have a few pieces I used last Christmas. It is wonderful. I am wanting to combine these 3: Vista Mason's, Enoch Woods English Scenery and Spode Tower. I love the mixing thing. Your shelf looks wonderful over the buffet! I do so love the shabby chic as it is so FRESH!!!
The shelf is perfect. It just finishes off the room perfectly!!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Karen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see your beautiful china displayed that way. The shelf is perfect! You can see them so much better that way. You have an absolutely lovely collection. Like Bernideen, I love the mixing of patterns. I have started collecting pink (or red) transferware dinner plates.
Great find!!! Ruthie
